Topografo Ltd.

Topografo is a specialist surveying and civil engineering consultancy that started in Christchurch, NZ, in 1994.

We provide property owners with innovative and accurate solutions for building, structure and land damage insurance claims.

We are based in Christchurch, South Island, NZ, but have clients throughout the South Island and lower part of the North Island, NZ.

Adrian Cowie, Director. RPSurv, LCS.

Adrian is a Registered Professional Surveyor (RPSurv) and Licensed Cadastral Surveyor (LCS).

Adrian is a member of the following organisations:

• Member, Survey + Spatial New Zealand.
• Member of Structural Engineering Society New Zealand (SESOC).
• Member New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE).
• Member New Zealand Insurance Law Association (NZILA).

Since 2010 he has been involved in over 100 High Court ‘Earthquake List’ proceedings, numerous Canterbury Earthquakes Insurance Tribunal (CEIT) and appeared as an expert in 7 substantive High Court trials. Adrian is an expert in understanding property insurance requirements and how to determine the presence of damage to buildings and land. He regularly works with lawyers and other experts such as structural engineers and geotechnical engineers and is very familiar with the requirements of working as an independent expert.

Adrian’s expertise and in-depth knowledge in natural disaster damage has assisted many property owners and clients to find a solution in their insurance disputes.
