What we do

We love surveying and helping our clients!

The last 13 years have been an amazing time assisting property owners with their insurance claims after the Canterbury Earthquakes.  Our work in this specialised area required us to apply all of our expertise in surveying, measurement, analysis, and civil engineering. Below is a summary of the types of work we do.

Topographical Site Surveys

The 'topo' site surveys we produce for new buildings or landslips are created using the latest survey equipment. Our plans can be produced in PDF and 3d CAD format suitable for architects and engineers.

Construction Setting Out

We have been setting out commercial, industrial and residential structures for 35 years and have developed robust methods to ensure accuracy and clarity for the builders and sub-trades.

Rental / Lease Area Surveys

An accurate and true representation of the commercial / industrial lease area is critical for both owners and tenants. We use survey-grade equipment and laser scanners to determine each lease area.

Cross Lease Update Surveys

Cross-lease updates are a nuisance for the property-owner, but we can assist in quickly preparing and submitting the documentation for the local council and Land Information New Zealand.

Land surveying & subdivision

We are routinely involved in small subdivisions and other land surveying for clients. This includes the resource consents, easements, and boundary pegging. We have an in-depth knowledge of the subdivision process.

Engineering design for subdivisions

For small subdivisions we have the expertise to carry out the civil engineering design with our design and certifications accepted by most Councils in New Zealand.

3d laser scanning

Using the latest 3d scanning equipment we can produce highly accurate and detailed point cloud data that can be used for many purposes. With our suite of survey equipment, our point clouds can be easily geo-referenced to local horizontal and height datums.

Damage Assessments

Our assessments provide a clear and accurate picture of the damage to buildings, structures and land. Our plans and reports are regularly used in the High Court and Canterbury Earthquakes Insurance Tribunal.

Floor Level & Verticality Surveys

We use survey-grade equipment and software to produce plans showing the existing geometry of the building or structure. These can be easily read by engineers, lawyers and other building experts.

Expert Witness

We have extensive experience acting as an expert witness in the High Court and can bring significant knowledge to any building or land damage claim the owner is involved with. This can be for insurance claims or construction disputes.

Enhanced Digital Twins for insured buildings

These provide our clients with assurance that the 'when new' condition of their property has been captured accurately which will assist if any future damage claim is made.

Construction Disputes

We are regularly engaged by owners and their legal team to provide survey information showing the geometric state of the structure. This takes the guess-work out of understsanding what the actual issues are with the building.
